چکیده

This study aims at evaluating and comparing the thermal performance of five different engine coolants employed in an experimental cooling system with a flat-tube louvered-fin automobile radiator. For this purpose, PLC-controlled test was set up. The could maintain temperatures air coolant radiator inlet, speed flow rate required values during tests. tested were pure wa-ter, 30/70 ethylene glycol (EG)/water, propylene (PG)/water, 50/50 EG/water PG/water mixtures. In all tests, temperature inlet kept 90°C, while varied between 0.10–0.25 l/s 0.05 increments. Furthermore, ra-diator 25, 30 35°C, passing over radia-tor 1–4 m/s 1 evaluated by locating measured inlet/outlet into conservation energy equation. It found that water yielded highest heat rejection rates. Compared water, EG/water, PG/water, mix-tures on average 3.50%, 7.89%, 8.28%, 11.46% lower rejec-tion rates, respectively. Since PG has some advantages EG such as cost toxicity, mixtures can be antifreeze instead expense slight decrease performance.

Performance of water and diluted ethylene glycol as coolants for electronic cooling

As the number of transistors increases with new generation of microprocessor chips, the power draw and heat load to dissipate during operation increases. As a result of increasing the heat loads and heat fluxes the Conventional cooling technologies such as fan, heat sinks are unable to absorb and heat transfer excess heat dissipated by these new microprocessor. So, new technologies are needed t...

of AF performance. that contain EG has been reponed to result in irreversible damage to renal, hepatic, cardiovascular, and central nervous systems, and is a cause of death in household pets and other animals.2-4 It is not known why some animals ingest EGcontaining products. Although there are reports suggesting that the "sweet" taste of EG, and of products containing it, may lead to ingestion ...

Membrane permeability of the human granulocyte to water, dimethyl sulfoxide, glycerol, propylene glycol and ethylene glycol.

Granulocytes are currently transfused as soon as possible after collection because they rapidly deteriorate after being removed from the body. This short shelf life complicates the logistics of granulocyte collection, banking, and safety testing. Cryopreservation has the potential to significantly increase shelf life; however, cryopreservation of granulocytes has proven to be difficult. In this...

Molecular structure and hydrogen bonding in pure liquid ethylene glycol and ethylene glycol-water mixtures studied using NIR spectroscopy.

The molecular structure and hydrogen bonding of ethylene glycol (EG) and EG-water mixtures in the liquid phase were studied by using near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy. The spectra were evaluated using a two-dimensional (2D) correlation approach, moving-window 2D correlation analysis and chemometric methods. The minor changes for the CH stretching bands indicate that the structures of pure liquid...
